Big Fish

YAS is volunteer led so every event, brochure, banner, blog post, and even this website are worked on by peers giving up their time. We call YAS members who contribute more BIG FISH.
Big Fish achieve some amazing things, and this organization would not exist without them! They have spoken at and attended conferences, organised salmon farm visits, run stands at events, and much more.

Thank you, Big Fish!

When selecting members to attend events, we prioritize our Big Fish. This ensures that those who contribute the most to YAS are rewarded for their efforts. You can see where this happens in the structure above.

Big Fish Testimonials

Alison Brough - Fish Vet, Scottish Sea Farms

"Alongside my colleagues at SSF, I organised the YAS visit to SSF's salmon hatchery, marine farm, and processing units alongside. The event drew around 20 members from across the supply chain.
I had the opportunity to speak on stage with Anas Sarwar (Scottish Labour Leader) at the YAS launch event at Aquaculture UK, which was organised by Salmon Scotland. Additionally, I attended the Scottish Labour Party's winter gala.
