YAS, Scale AQ, and Inverlussa Team Up for Impact

Updated: Jul 1

As Aquaculture UK approaches, YAS is gearing up to make a significant splash. Thanks to the support of Scale AQ and  Inverlussa, YAS is not only set to raise awareness but also funds for the RNLI.

Starting at 8:30 am on May 15th from Grampian Road next to "the Vault" (look for the YAS flag!), participants will embark on the scenic Aviemore Circular route, covering approximately 6km. All are welcome to join, with Scale AQ and Inverlussa pledging to donate £5 each to the RNLI for every walker/runner.

Graham Smith, Scale AQ General Manager UK, emphasizes that “RNLI are a brilliant maritime cause; an institution that provides an excellent service for the women and men who work and interact with the seas around the UK."

The collaboration between YAS, Scale AQ, and Inverlussa underscores the importance of partnerships in driving meaningful impact within the aquaculture sector. Robert Stewart, YAS Vice President, expresses gratitude for Scale AQ's support, emphasizing the industry's willingness to nurture new ideas and talent.

Connor Foster, Seabased Special Advisor for Scale AQ, echoes the sentiment: “Young Fish are a great resource for both young people in Norway, and the Norwegian sector – I loved my time there. We are excited at the prospect of a similar initiative launching in the UK to support talent development”.

With YAS's official launch event coinciding with the Salmon Scotland AGM, this collaboration marks the beginning of an exciting journey for the young professional's network. This will be YAS's inaugural in-person event, signaling a new era of networking opportunities for young professionals in the aquaculture sector.
